The Commonwealth Games to be staged next July in Glasgow will be a significant boost to the 63rd Cork City Sports as many top international athletes will use the Cork Sports as an important part of their final preparations for the  Commonwealth Games.

Already a number of athletes from Australia, South Africa, New Zealand, Jamaica and Guyana have indicated their intention to compete in Cork on 8th July. Many others will be confirmed by the organisers over the coming months.
