Zamel-Paez was Australian national senior champion in 2009 and was runner-up in the 2013 championships. The twenty five year old from Victoria has also represented Australia at the 2010 Commonwealth Games.
The current Irish record is 2.30m held by Adrian O’Dwyer from Kilkenny and stands since 2004 while the top Irish performer from last year was Barry Pender who jumped 2.15m so the former Australian is likely to shake up the jumping scene when he arrives here this summer
