Double world champion, Lashinda Demus, from the United States, is likely to compete at the 63rd Cork City Sports on Tuesday 8th July as she was impressed by the athlete friendly facilities when she competed in a low key track meeting at the CIT Athletic Stadium last July prior to winning the bronze medal at the World Championships in Moscow. The 31 year old has run 52.47secs for the 400m Hurdles when winning this event at the 2011 World Championships in Daego and has also run 51.09 sec for the flat 400m so will be a major attraction no matter which event she competes in next July.
Demus took the silver medal at the London Olympics and has won five national titles and is US record holder over the hurdles.
