SuperValu & Centra 100mts events star attractions at the Cork City Sports on Tuesday 7th July
The organisers and Committee of the 64th Cork City Sports made a special visit recently, to the head Office Of Musgrave Group plc to acknowledge the Groups sponsorship of the men’s and women’ sprint events at their international sports for the last 33 years
Mr Frank Walley President of the Cork City Sports and former winner of the men’s 100mts thanked Mr Chris Martin CEO and Tim Kenny Finance Director and Secretary for continuing to support the event over such a long period and said that as a former executive of the Company now retired it was a great satisfaction for him now as President to see this support continue..
Mr Tony O’Connell Chairman, said that the sprint events are always very popular with the public and highly contested with competitors and stated that in this year’s men’s event there are 4 entrants who have run under 10 seconds and this year’s race could see the first sub 10 seconds race ever run in Ireland
Mr Martin said that the company through SuperValu and Centra are major sponsors of Sport in Ireland and added that the Company was delighted to be associated with the Cork City Sports which has always and continues to be the premier International athletics meeting in Ireland.
