The Cork City Sports Athlete for the Month of June goes to Dean Cronin (Blarney/Inniscarra AC). On the 2nd of June in Nashville Dean ran 1:46.67 in the 800m setting a personal best and also securing a European Championship A qualifying standard for that event. This time also puts him 11th on the Irish All-Time list and he heads the Irish 800m rankings this year. Dean had a stellar breakthrough season this year winning the silver medal in the 800m at both the Indoor and Outdoor NCAA Division 2 American championships.
