The Cork City Sports Athlete for the month of June goes to Lizzie Lee (Leevale AC). At a specially arranged Micro Meet for Irish elite athletes at the MTU track Lizzie won the 10,000m event in a time of 34:14.26. Subsequently she was selected as the sole female Irish representative  for the European Cup in Birmingham. where she ran a lifetime best  of 33:04.50, which jumps her to 19th on the Irish All-Time women’s 10,000m standings.
