Guy Learmonth the Scottish 800m athlete is confirmed in the 800m in place of Mark English who has been called for advance preparation ahead of the World Championships. Learmonth has been a great servant to Scottish athletics over the past five or more years featuring in all major European Championships indoors and out. He has a PB of 1.44.73 which is world class.

He will have opposition from two up and coming Polish athletes Filip Ostrowski and Jakub Augustyniak who have both run 1.46 in recent weeks and are hoping to run faster in Cork.
