Nicola Tuthill (Bandon A.C.) is the Cork City Sports Athlete of the Month for March. At the European Throwing Cup in Leiria Portugal Nicola produced a personal best throw of 64.44m to secure a brilliant silver medal in the Under 23 competition. This effort was all the more praiseworthy given that Nicola suffered a very nasty shoulder/elbow injury at the same venue last year. She can now look forward to a full season of hammer throwing culminating with the European Under 23 Championships in Finland the weekend before the 70^th Cork City Sports which takes a few days later on the 20^th July.
