Diamond League winner Torrie Lewis Confirmed For 200m
Torrie Lewis is a teenage star of world sprinting. Still only 19 years of age she is the current Australian and Oceania Champion over 200M. She also won the opening Diamond League 200m title in Xiamen, China, in April, beating World Champion Sha’Carri Richardson into second place.
Lewis will be up against another teenage star, also 19 years old, from Sweden, Nora Lindahl. Nora is the current European U20 Champion and European Senior semi finalist from Rome. She missed making the final by 1/100 of a second.
Also in the field will be half of Ireland’s silver medal winning team in the 4 x 400m relay from Rome, Phil Healy and Sophie Becker. This will be the first opportunity for Cork athletics supporters to show their appreciation for their amazing achievement at a major championships.
Another recognisable name in the field will be Renee Regis. She is another rising star and daughter of John Regis, former British record holder and Olympic and World Championship medalist.
