The U. K.’s top hammer thrower Andy Frost is a confirmed starter for this year’s Sports scheduled for Tuesday 8th July at the CIT Athletic Stadium, Bishopstown. Frost who is the current national champion winning the 2013 U.K.Championships with a throw of 72.79 metres has already been selected by Scotland to compete in the Commonwealth Games to be held in Glasgow later in July.
Having finished fourth in the 2006 and 2010 Commonwealth Games the thirty three year old Scot will be keen to get among the medals on his home turf this year. Frost will provide ideal opposition for the young Irish throwers including Conor McCullough who will be throwing in Cork.
