Conor Callinan (Leevale A.C.) is the Cork City Sports Athlete for the month for January. The award was presented to Conor at ceremony in The River Lee Hotel on Monday 14th March. On Jan 9th at round 1 of the National Leagues, Conor set a new Irish Junior Indoor Pole Vault record of 4.70m, the following week at the National Indoor Arena track meeting in Dublin Conor once again bettered his junior pole vault record with a 4.75m vault. Since then Conor has gone on to win the National Senior Indoor PV title and is now at 17 is the reigning senior champion outdoor and indoor and has just added the Junior indoor title to his list of his achievements.
