At a ceremony in the River Lee Hotel, Leevale athlete Sam Healy was presented with the Cork City Sports Athlete of the month Award for June.

Healy finished 5th in the long jump at the European Juniors which were held in Eskilstuna, Sweden. In doing so he achieved three outdoor PBs in the process. It is always a sign of a great athlete to produce PBs on the big occasions. Sam produced a fine last 7.44m leap to ensure his 5th place finish.
