Stephanie Cotter (West Muskerry AC) is the Cork City Sports Athlete of the Month for December. Stephanie won a magnificent  bronze in the women’s U23 race at European Cross Country Championships, in Lisbon, leading the Irish team to the second place. 

Just two weeks earlier Stephanie culminated a stellar unbeaten American collegiate cross country season by winning the NCAA division II title in Sacramento on the 24th of the month. Her winning time of 19min 15.5sec which was the first time in NCAA Div II history that a woman broke the 20 minute barrier for the 6km distance.
