Collis Birmingham, runaway winner of the 3000m at the 2013 Cork City Sports will return to Leeside on Tuesday 8th July aiming for a repeat victory and also to attempt to break the Meeting record for the distance held by fellow Australian Craig Mottram who ran 7 mins 38.15 secs way back in 2005 at the Mardyke.

The 29 year old from Victoria has a best time of 7mins 47.91secs set in Stockholm in 2012 and has also run the Mile in 3:54.30. Showing his versatility the twice Olympian finished 8th in last year’s  World Cross Country Championships in Poland.

Birmingham has confirmed he is already looking forward to returning to Cork in advance of his participation in the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow
