Cork City Sports is proud to announce Nicola Tuthill (Bandon AC & UCD AC)as the recipient of the March 2025 Athlete of the Month award, following a historic performance on the international stage.
Competing at the prestigious European Throwing Cup in Cyprus, Nicola delivered a phenomenal throw of 69.74m in the Under 23 hammer event—just shy of her lifetime best. This outstanding effort secured Ireland’s first-ever gold medal at this level of international athletics, marking a major milestone not only in Nicola’s career but in the history of Irish throwing.
Her throw also placed her at the top of the European rankings for Under 23 women’s hammer at the time, solidifying her reputation as one of the brightest emerging talents in the sport.
Nicola is really looking forward to competing at this year’s Cork City Sports Meet in front of her home crowd.
