The iTG Elite Sports Management team will descend upon the 64th Cork City Sports International Athletics Meeting in full force. The event has confirmed 5 iTG Elite athletes to contest various events at the international athletics meeting.
Among the iTG Elite faithful heading to the EA Permit event will be
the veteran Cleo Vanburen. Vanburen is headed to cork to defend her 2014 100m title. In 2014 Vanburen went wire to wire with Irelands Healy Phil in a photo finish which decided the winner by .001.
The mens high jump will see the return of Donte Nall. Nall competed in the 2013 edition of Cork City and finished 2nd. Nall has added incentive for a topflight performance at Cork as the current meet record is held by his coach Jamie Nieto. Nall will hope to stamp his mark on the event by taking over the standard set by his teacher.
In his Rookie season Patrick Feeney (iTGESM/TNSM) has found success at multiple international events. In the early part of 2015 Feeney posted strong wins a the Mt. Sac Relays, Meeting De Guadalupe and the IAAF World Challenge Dakar. He also anchored team USA to a commanding 4x400m victory at the USA vs the World Penn Relays. Feeney will line up for an off event at Cork, stepping down to 200m.
The mens long jump will be a very interesting contest at this year at Cork City. iTG Elite sends two capable long jumpers to compete for the Cork title. Coming fresh of a seasons best performance at the 22nd annual TMP Weitsprung Meeting der Weltklasse in Germany Norris Frederick will hope to find his first 8m performance of 2015.
Rounding out the international field in the LJ is Ronald Hertog. Ronald is the newest edition to the iTG Elite family and may very well be the story of the meet. Hertog is one of the worlds top Paralympic long jumpers. A single below the leg amputee, Hertog is currently ranked 3rd nationally in the Netherlands against his able body counterparts. During the indoor season the “Duke” finished 4th at the Dutch National Indoor “Able-Body” Championships. And most recently at the Meeting Leverkusen in Germany Hertog posted a lifetime best of 7.53m. He comes into the competition a decorated long jumper with SILVER MEDAL at the 2013 IPC World Championships and BRONZE MEDAL at the IPC European Championships. This season Hertog was selected by his federation as a Dutch team member for the European Team Championships. Cork City will be Ronalds first international able-body competition outside the Netherlands.
