Kiwi Champions Head for Cork
A strong New Zealand team will compete at the 62nd Cork City Sports on 2nd July including national high jump champion, Liz Lamb from Waitakere, who won the womens high jump at the 2012 Sports and with a personal best of 1.90m the 21 year old is quitely confident of retaining her title this summer.
With the Womens 800m included on the programme of events for the first time since the late nineties due to the current high standard of two lap running in Ireland New Zealand’s top female middle distance runner Angie Smit who has already run 2mins 00.67sec. for the distance will be targeting a sub two minute performance in Cork. The 21 year old was an impressive winner of her national title in Auckland in March.
