Victoria Ohuruogo wants to defend her 400m crown at the forthcoming 63rd Cork City Sports on Tuesday 8th July at the super fast CIT Athletic Stadium in Bishopstown. The younger sister of the double World Champion and Olympic Gold Medallist for the distance Christine Ohuruogo was a popular winner of the one lap event in Cork last July but now finds herself on the waiting list to see if she can get into the race.

Organisers have indicated that the field is full but if there are some late defections a lane may open for the current European Indoor Bronze medallist.

During the past week World Championship finalist Zudikey Nunez from Mexico and Indian record holder Povamma Raja were confirmed to compete in the 400m.  Jessica Barr from Waterford and Sinead Denny will carry home hopes in this event.
