Ciaran O’Lionard, the US based Leevale star returns home to compete for the first time since winning a bronze medal in the 3000m at the European Indoor championships in Gothenburg earlier this year.
Just turned 25, O’Lionard is already one of the great Irish milers of all time, up there with Eamonn Coughlan, Marcus O’Sullivan and Ray Flynn.
He is coming to the Cork City Sports in great condition and is really looking forward to racing in front of his home crowd.
Once again the mile promises to be a great event with O’Lionard competing against the US middle distance star Ben True. This will likely be one the fastest and most competitive miles in the world this year. Not to be missed.
