Sarah Lavin Confirmed For 70th Cork City Sports in the 100M Hurdles
Sarah Lavin has been lighting up the tracks of Europe over the past couple of years. The Irish record holder has been running consistently sub 13 seconds which is the threshold for world class in this event. Most recently she ran 12.66 at the Pavlo Nurmi Games in Finland in a stacked field.
Sarah will not have it her own way in Cork on July 9th as there are eight other athletes who also have run sub 13 seconds making it one of the finest fields ever assembled on Irish soil in this event.
Included in the field are Jade Barber USA who is the meeting record holder from 2022 coming back to defend her title. Talie Bonds USA has run 12.68 and Ebony Morrison Liberia has run 12.84 recently so they will feature in a very tight race as will Charisma Taylor Bahamas who has run 12.76 a few weeks ago.
This could well be the best race of the night with Lavin favoured to take it. She will most certainly have the support from the home crown at MTU.
