World No 1, Cornel Fredricks confirmed for Cork City Sports
South African hurdler, Cornel Fredericks, winner of the American Trophy, at last year’s Cork City Sports, clocked the fastest 400m hurdles in the world this year when retaining his national title at the South African Championships in Stellenbosch last weekend in 48.78.sec.. The 23 year old who finished 5th in the 2011 World Championships and will be aiming to get in the medals at this years Worlds in Moscow in August was an impressive winner of the 400m hurdles when setting a new Meeting record of 49.00 sec. at the CIT Stadium last July.
Fredericks with a pb. of 48.14 will to defend his title in Cork on 2nd July.
